Rajpura boy second in country

After the pre-medical test, it's the All-India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) which has left the tricity disappointed with the poorest performance in the last four years. Only two students have so far reportedly made it to the top 100 in the country as compared to four last year and seven in 2010.

Almost two weeks after cancelling free parking passes, the Municipal Corporation (MC) is headed for more trouble as parking contractors have sought the recovery of money on account of extra passes issued by the corporation under 18 categories.

Boating at Sukhna Lake on last leg?
Chandigarh, June 9
Boating, which was once considered to be one of the major sources of income for the Chandigarh Industrial Tourism Development Corporation (CITCO) at Sukhna Lake, has lost its charm. The depleting water level has now started affecting the boating business as the daily income from boating has come down drastically to Rs 30,000 against the earlier income between Rs 60,000 and Rs 70,000.

Tubewell made functional after six months
Mohali, June 9
A tubewell in Phase III B-1, which had not been functioning over the past six months as the machinery from it had mysteriously vanished, was made to run last evening much to the relief of residents who were facing water shortage.

New entrant at Chhatbir Zoo
A leopard that was rescued from Mukerian in Hoshiarpur and brought to Chattbir Zoo on Saturday.Zirakpur, June 9
Chhatbir Zoo received a special guest today. It is a male, sub-adult leopard, weighing around 50-55kg. The leopard was captured yesterday from Dugri Awan village, located about 5 km from Mukerian town in Hoshiarpur district. There, it had entered a living room of a house when it was spotted near a cowshed by some residents.

A leopard that was rescued from Mukerian in Hoshiarpur and brought to Chattbir Zoo on Saturday.

DAV College releases prospectus
Chandigarh, June 9 
DAV College, Chandigarh, released its prospectus for the upcoming session today. With the release of prospectus, the students can now apply for various courses run by the college. The cost of the prospectus is Rs 400, says a college source. The college authority has decided not to increase course fee and hostel charges this year. 

Admission to BE, architecture to commence from June 11

The registration process for admission to Bachelors in Engineering and Bachelors in Architecture in various institutes under Panjab University is going to commence from June 11.

In his complaint, Rahul Garg, a resident of Mansa, alleged that he had bought cashless policy for his Hyundai i20 car from the company. When his car met with an accident, the company denied him to pay the actual loss.
