19-yr-old girl commits suicide:A 19-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself with a ceiling fan at Banda Bahadur Singh Nagar in Basti Jodhewal. The deceased, identified as Sheetal, was found hanging with a ceiling fan here this morning. The victim’s sister said Sheetal went to sleep along with her last night. The sister was clueless as to when Sheetal committed suicide. According to her, Sheetal was completely normal. The parents of the deceased informed the police about the incident.

Police protection: A newlywed runaway couple fearing threat to their lives from their families appeared before a local court to seek protection. Nishant of Pirthala and Seema of Tohana said they were in love for the past seven years but Nishant’s family was against their marriage. They escaped from their homes and married at the Arya Samaj Mandir in Ghaziabad on May 30. The court immediately directed the police to provide protection to the couple.

Murder case: Enraged over the delay in arresting the accused responsible for the murder of Sunil (45), a key witness in the suicide case of his minor daughter here on Saturday, the deceased’s relatives demonstrated in front of the Civil Hospital on Sunday and did not allow the postmortem of the body initially. Meanwhile, the police booked Robin, the main accused in the suicide case registered against him in June 2011 and some other accused.
