Now there is a dedicated helpline for the city residents to register complaints regarding garbage lifting and other related issues. A2Z Waste Management Ludhiana Ltd, involved in garbage collection, has now started a toll-free helpline number, 1800-120-0117, for the residents.

The police has not registered any case in the incident where a man allegedly threw his sister into a fire at Nurpur Bet on May 26. Preliminary investigations made by the police reveal since it was a case of land dispute, the victim, Nacchattar Kaur, had levelled "baseless" allegations against her brother Nacchattar Singh Sandhu.
