Door-to-door garbage collection scheme a flop show
Despite having a page on the social networking site, Facebook, to address public grievances for poor sanitation conditions in the city, the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh (MCC) is struggling to keep the city clean. In a House meeting, councillors also highlighted that the municipal corporation medial officer of the health wing had failed to maintain sanitation in the city.

Mango prices come down
Chandigarh, May 13
The prices of different varieties of mango have witnessed a major change during last week. The safeda variety was sold at a price between Rs 40 and 50 a kg in the vegetable and fruit market of Sector 26. The sindoori variety, which was being sold for Rs 80 a kg the previous week, was available for Rs 60 at many shops. The price of parry mango got slashed to Rs 70 from Rs 140 a fortnight ago.
