Blood donation camp held
: The Dera Sacha Sauda organised a blood donation camp here today to mark its foundation day that falls tomorrow. Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh inaugurated the camp and 4,950 dera followers donated blood.

Three arrested:
The police here has arrested three more persons from various stations, who are said to be the accomplices of Shah Nawaz of Delhi who was earlier arrested by the police for kidnapping and enticing a minor girl of the Diara sector of this town on April 20. SP Santosh Patial said here on Friday that on probing Shah Nawaz, Devender Singh of Cart Road, Shimla, Karam Chand of Palog village and Mohammed Ansar of Idgaah Colony, Shimla, were also arrested by the police on Thursday.

Conductor dies: Charodu Ram (40), cleaner-cum-conductor of a truck, was killed on the spot while its driver Arjun Singh was injured seriously as the truck suddenly rolled down several feet from NH No. 21 (Chandigarh-Manali), near Chadole on Friday. The truck was going to Rohru via Bilaspur from Jalandhar. The injured and the dead belong to Suchhi Pind, Jalandhar, Punjab.

Srinagar
Three labourers found dead
: Three labourers were found dead in the Bemina area of Srinagar city on Saturday. The police recovered their bodies from a rented room.

Girl commitssuicide: A 16-year-old girl committed suicide when she jumped into the Nalbal nullah from Akmal Bridge in the Nowshera area of Srinagar. The victim was rescued and shifted to SKIMS, Soura, where the doctors declared her brought dead.

Training course: The Civil Defence, Srinagar, and Divisional Disaster Management Authority, Kashmir, organised a five-day disaster preparedness and civil defence basic training course at Government High School, Pantha Chowk, under the Urban Risk Reduction Project, which concluded here on Saturday. Around 100 participants, including students, teachers and school principal Syed Akhtar, participated in the training.

Staff found absent: Six employees were found absent from work in two high schools near Sopore in Baramulla district. The Sub-Divisional Magistrate has ordered disciplinary action against the absentees.

Arms seized: The police seized an AK magazine, two AK rounds, one hand grenade, four water bottles, five pencil cells and a utensil from a militant hideout in Kupwara district of north Kashmir, police here said.

Woman duped of jewellery in Haldwani: A woman was allegedly duped of her gold jewellery in Haldwani on Friday afternoon. Urmila Chandola, a resident of Kathgodam, was on her way to a hospital on Friday afternoon when a child approached her with a request to help him reach Kashipur. Later, a youth joined the child and started talking to her. The woman alleged that she was hypnotised into surrendering her mangalsutra and earrings to him. The two left giving her a packet. By the time she came to her senses, the two had left and the packet given to her contained Rs 50 and some cardboard pieces. Police investigations are on into the matter.

Woman sets herself ablaze, dies: After a tiff with her husband, a woman allegedly set herself afire at her house in Bilaspur on Friday morning. She was taken to Sushila Tewari Hospital in Haldwani, where she died.

Man run over by car: A resident of Ramnagar was killed when he was run over by a car near Jaitpur village on the Ramnagar road on Friday night. Farrukh (35), a resident of Khatadi locality, was coming to Ramnagar on his motorcycle from Kundeshwari when the accident took place.

Missing girl found: A girl who had gone missing from Bazpur a few days ago has been found in Punjab by the police along with a boy with whom she was having an affair. Mobin Jahan (16) had an affair with one Pradip Singh of Tarn Taran in Punjab. The duo decided to elope. To misguide members of the girl's family, they had thrown her purse, cellphone and slippers in a wheat field to make her disappearance look like kidnapping. The duo are in police custody and further investigations are on.

Student killed in mishap: A student of the Industrial Training Institute was killed when his motorcycle was hit by a tractor-trailer near Kitcha in Udham Singh Nagar district on Friday. Balwant Kumar, a resident of Pithoragarh district, had come to his maternal aunt's place in Malli Devariya and was on way back to Rudrapur along with a friend when the accident ttok place. The driver of the tractor-trailer fled from the spot.
