Encroachment alleged by old couple

A high-drama was witnessed at Sham Singh Road area when an old couple claimed that a land mafia had usurped their land and thrown them out of their ancestral property.

Merely over a month after five family members were booked for withdrawing Rs 1.13 crore from the Punjab National Bank (PNB) account of Nirmal Baba though bogus cheques, the special team of police conducted raid at the Deep Nagar Street No 9 last night and detained four members of family including a bank employee with Rs 45 lakh disproportionate amount, five mobile phones and two laptops.
