11 officials face action: Departmental action has been recommended by the Haryana Vigilance Bureau against four gazetted officers and seven non-gazetted officers for alleged corruption, a bureau spokesman said. Eight other officials were also caught recently while accepting illegal gratification ranging from Rs 1,500 to Rs 6,300 following which criminal cases have been registered against them under the Prevention of Corruption Act, he said.Rewari
Two held:The police has arrested two youths, Sonu and Gaurav Sharma, in connection with the murder of Dalip Kumar whose body was recovered near a workshop on the Garhi Bolni road here on April 10. They were on Thursday produced in a local court, which remanded them in custody for one day.

HC main wing to close on April
27: An order issued by Registrar General J R Kotwal of the J&K High Court stated that due the darbar move, the main wing of the high court and office of the Registrar Vigilance would close at Jammu on April 27 after office hours and reopen in Srinagar on May 7.

Vasectomy performed on labourer: The Haldwani police has started investigating a complaint pertaining to vasectomy being carried out on an unmarried man in one of the hospitals in the town. The police has received a complaint from Bhagwat Singh of Kaladhungi Basti stating that his mentally disabled brother Rajendra Singh had been lured from a site in Devalchaur where he had gone to work as a labourer and was subject to vasectomy. He had allegedly been lured with an offer of a mobile telephone. It was only when he complained of medical complications that it came to light that he had been subjected to vasectomy.Two killed in accidents:Two persons were killed in accidents reported from Haldwani on Wednesday. In the first instance, Jamuna Prasad of Shergarh in Bareilley in Uttar Pradesh was killed when he was run over by a tanker in the Lamachaur area. The accident took place while he was crossing the road. He was taken to a local hospital where he died while being treated. In the second instance, Tara Chand of Shahbad in Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh was killed near Mangoli village on the Kaladhungi-Nainital road when he was run over by a vehicle. He died while being treated in a hospital in Haldwani. DM warns procurement officials:
Udham Singh Nagar District Magistrate Brajesh Sant has said that various procurement agencies have paid Rs 4.30 crore to the farmers for their wheat produce till now. At a review meeting held in Rudrapur on Thursday, Sant said there were complaints of officials involved in procurement and not carrying out their duties properly. He also stated that the farmers were being unduly harassed at the procurement centres and the culture of touts was being promoted. Stating that no laxity would be tolerated, he has asked the officials to carry out their duties with sincerity and honesty. Job fair on April 30:
District Employment Officer at Udham Singh Nagar YS Rawat has said an MNC located in the State Infrastructure and Industrial Development Corporation of Uttaranchal (SIDCUL) hub in Sitarganj is requiring the services of local employees who have passed Class 12 with mathematics, biology and agriculture. He has stated that a recruitment fair would be held on April 30 on the Collectorate premises. He has asked the candidates between the age group of 18 to 22 years to avail the opportunity by participating in the recruitment fair. One killed, two injured in car accident:
One person was killed while two others were injured when the car in which they were travelling fell into a gorge near Ratighat on the Bhawali-Almora road. The accident took place on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Dheeraj Kumar of Mangalsera of Bageshwar. He died on the spot. Those injured are Bhuvan Arya (20) and Sohan Lal (34) of Kumaldeb village in Bageshwar.
