Police party attacked, 12 booked

One head constable of a police party was injured in an attack by miscreants late last evening. As many as 12 people have been booked under Sections 307, 382, 379B, 353, 506, 148 and 149 of the IPC has been registered.
Three persons, identified as Jagwan Singh, Harcharan Singh and his brother Nanak Singh, were arrested while others managed to escape. The sources said the youths on motorcycles attacked when the police party on a naka signaled them to stop. They tore the uniform of all the policemen and took away a cash of Rs 550 from policeman Harpreet Singh. The scuffle lasted for 10 minutes during which the youths manhandled the policemen.
