UT has no right, says legal dept

The UT Administration has received a major blow in the inter-state dispute over the 26-sq-km eco-fragile Sukhna wildlife sanctuary area, with the legal department accepting in its report that the it does not belong to the UT.
Huge haul of stolen furniture by police

Youths stuck in lake after midnight

Fun turned into a nightmare for two youths at the Sukhna Lake late last night as their boat got stuck in the middle of the lake. The youths called the police control room following which policemen in a boat rescued the two. The incident exposes glaring security lapses at the lake as the youths managed to row a boat at 2.30 am and the police got to know only when the two called the police control room for help.
80 challans issued to violators in anti-encroachment drive

Around 80 challans were issued to the defaulters today during a special enforcement drive to remove encroachments from Sector 22 and 34. The challans were issued in the furniture market, Sector 34. 50 challans were issued in the Sector 22 outer area. The enforcement team seized sofa sets, centre tables, dinning tables, beds,
almirahs, trunks etc from the encroachers.

MC submits report to Administration

Avoiding any controversy over the issue of notification of constitution of eleven sub-committees, the UT Administration has asked the municipal corporation to clarify its works and functioning in detail so as to get its approval. Sources in the corporation revealed that a detailed report of the functions of all sub-committees was sent to the UT Administration today by the corporation for its early clearance.

Leopard still stuck in pipe

Deny admission to students involved in shootout at DAV-10, says ABVP
