(GMCH), Sector 32, doctor reportedly left a gauge inside a woman’s vagina after her delivery on January 14.

Traffic awareness campaign makes little impact

WWICS bank accounts sealed

Rupinder’s garden adjudged best

Police issues ‘wrong’ challan

The UT traffic police is in the dock for allegedly issuing a wrong challan to a woman for driving without seat belt. An advocate had filed a complaint with the UT SSP in this regard.

DC’s report to be examined

Deputy Commissioner of UT Brijendra Singh’s report, in which he had asked the administration to seek legal opinion on the disputed patch of 26 sq km in the Sukhna reserve forest last November, would be examined thoroughly before finalising the Master Plan of Chandigarh.
MC for improving sanitation

The Chandigarh Municipal Corporation is for improving sanitation facilities in the city in the coming financial year. The Finance and Contract Committee of the civic body, at its meeting held today, recommended that the city should be divided into five zones for the purpose and 75 safai karamcharis are to be deputed for door-to-door collection of garbage.

Employees hold protest

RTI applicant not ‘consumer’: Forum

In an important judgment, which would have far reaching consequences, the Panchkula consumer forum held that an ‘RTI’ applicant is not a consumer. While dismissing two applications, filed by the RTI applicants, the forum held that the consumer forums, which have been constituted under the Consumer Protection Act, are not expected to encroach upon the functions of the Central Public Information officers.
Uprooted bus shelter not fixed for six months

The local bus shelter, uprooted by the Zirakpur Municipal Council, nearly six months ago near a mall, is yet to be put in place causing inconvenience to the commuters.
The council has spent lakhs of rupees for the two temporary bus stops on the both the sides of the Zirakpur-Ambala highway and laid
pavers. But the sites were encroached upon by tempos, trucks and other vehicles.
