Two killed in jhuggi fire

The efforts of Sunil and Parmod to light up their jhuggi in Sector 25 with a “kundi” connection proved fatal as both of them died after the jhuggi caught fire in the wee hours of today, reportedly due to a short circuit.

2 held for giving kidnap threat
Panchkula, February 18
A day after a Panchkula Sector 10 resident, Dr Swati Vohra, received a threatening SMS demanding a ransom of Rs 10 lakh or else her two children would be kidnapped, a joint team of the Panchkula and UT police arrested two persons in this connection from the Chandigarh railway station.

Suicide at Sukhna
Chandigarh, February 18
High drama prevailed at Sukhna Lake today as the UT police was finally able to retrieve the body that they had been looking for since last night. Deepak Sharma, alias laddi, of Mani Majra, left his house last evening leaving behind a note asking his family members to collect his body from the lake as he planned to end his life.
