Cong leader booked in land grab case
Ludhiana, February 17
Former District Congress Committee (DCC) president Jagmohan Sharma and his close aide were booked in a multi-crore land grab case by the city police here today.
The case was registered following the complaint of Harpal Singh, a resident of Gurdev
Nagar.
Man booked for raping daughter

The city police has arrested a man for raping his 16-year-old daughter. The accused, identified as Satish Kumar, who spent over a decade in jail for brutally killing his wife Kamlesh
Rani, was caught again by the Salem Tabri police last evening on the charges of raping his daughter.
20-yr-old hit by truck, dies

A day after two women were run over by a speeding truck, a 20-year-old girl lost her life after being hit by a pick-up truck on a flyover near Atam Nagar Chowk here today.
Liquor vends fall in line

After the Excise and Taxation Department cracked its whip on the liquor vends, owners have now put small display boards outside their vends.
Last month, the department had issued notices to the liquor vend owners to remove huge hoardings and posters displayed outside.

No scheme to rehabilitate beggars

Though the district administration and police have put up boards at major places in the city, asking residents not to encourage beggars by giving alms, as their number will be increased manifolds in a few years to come.
