When VC raised slogans against himself

In a direct parallel with the incident of a senior IAS officer in Gurgaon hitting himself with his shoe in November 2011, Prof RC Sobti, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University, today raised “murdabad” slogans against himself in front of a 500 odd staff of the administrative block protesting against him for “making overzealous efforts in improving the work culture, particularly timings, on the campus”.

Mehfil dispute ends as HC okays compromise

The dispute between the Dhawans and the Khans over Mehfil’s accounts has been amicably resolved. As per the terms and conditions of a compromise, Mehfil Hospitality Limited has agreed to give Rs 20 lakh to SA Khan “in full and final payment pertaining to all dues and claims”.
