Admn to start serving notices from today

After getting it cleared from the in-house Legal Cell, the UT Estate Office would start serving show-cause notices tomorrow on as many as 88 beneficiaries, who are under the scanner for different reasons in the booth scam.
15-day notice to discotheque

The Estate Office today issued directions to the Aerizona discotheque, which is located in Sector 9, to stop its commercial activities in the basement of the premises immediately and remove the violations within 15 days.
Minor girl commits suicide
Chandigarh, January 17
A 15-year-old girl, employed as a maid in a house in Sector 34, allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan at her employer’s house this evening. The girl, Kalwati, was a resident of Faidan village and her mother had alleged a relative was harassing her and forced her to take the extreme step.

The Punjab Human Rights Commission has directed the Director, Health Services, to speed up the kidney scam probe involving two Mohali hospitals.
