‘Campaigning’ at gurdwara

Following the instructions of Election Commission of India, the Ludhiana (rural) police has formed different teams, including a flying squad, to keep a strict vigil on the misuse of money, liquor and drugs by politicians during the Assembly elections slated to be held on January 30. The flying squad of the police will keep a check on the supporters of candidates of different political parties as well as voters.

The Permanent Lok Adalat (PLA) has quashed the demand of Rs 1,39,659 raised by Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) to a consumer on the charges of theft of energy with the observation that the charges could not be proved.
