The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madhymik Abhiya (RMSA) teachers laid siege to the Bharat Nagar Chowk here today, demanding regularisation of their jobs. Long traffic jams were witnessed on the Ferozepur Road due to the blockade.

Goods worth lakhs gutted

Goods worth lakhs of rupees were gutted in a fire that broke out at a shop in the Midha Chowk area here late last night. Short-circuit is learnt to be the reason behind this fire.
The shop owner, MS Arora, said he came to know about the incident from area residents.

Mixed response to cluster system in schools

To speed up the implementation of education policies in the state, the education department has introduced the cluster system. The system has helped reduce the burden of officials in the district and state offices who had to send information by post and had to wait for weeks together to get back the required data and in some cases letters failed to reach the respective destinations, especially in rural areas.
