Girl, 2 others booked for ‘killing’ Dalit youth
Phagwara, December 4
The police has registered a case under Section 302 of the IPC and the Arms Act against Jaspreet Kaur, her father Chanchal Singh and her cousin on the charges of murdering Harwinder Singh, a Dalit youth on November 30. SHO, Rawalpindi, Shivkamal Singh said that Kulwinder Singh, brother of the deceased, had alleged that he and Harwinder were working in the fields on November 30 when the deceased received a phone call and he went to Sahni village. Later, he received a call informing him about the alleged suicide by Harwinder at the house of his beloved. Kulwinder alleged that his brother was called there and was killed. No arrest has been made so for. The family of the deceased had refused to cremate the body till registration of a case against the girl and her family. The SHO said police was waiting for viscera report. He said the country-made pistol recovered from the spot would be sent to fingerprints experts.
