Ambala, December 2 According to information, Nisha Malhotra was going home on her Kinetic Honda scooter when two youths on a motorcycle snatched her chain and fled from the spot. Nisha lost control of the two-wheeler and fell down. |

Chandigarh, December 2 The Bench of Justice Surya Kant and Justice Augustine George Masih asserted: “The identity of the Nari Niketan victim’s child should not be disclosed to other children and the name of the playway school where she will take admission should not be disclosed.” The directions came soon after amicus curiae in the case, Tanu Bedi, gave a report in sealed cover. On the previous date of hearing, the administration had stated that the victim and her daughter were being provided with proper clothing by the authorities concerned. Woman’s body found

Chandigarh, December 2 In the final match of the tourney, St Stephen’s School, Sector 45, defeated host St Kabir School vie a tie-breaker after a goalless draw in the stipulated period. Both the teams failed to score even in the allotted extra time but the winning side named the match by 4-2 in decider penalties. Notably, the school has bagged the title for the seventh consecutive time. For winning side, Shaiza converted first spot kick while Arjit doubled the lead with Akshit and Jashandeep Singh contributing in the win. Peanjal Kaura and Akash scored for St Kabir’s team. |
CRPF thrash JCC
Chandigarh, December 2 In the third day match of Men’s category, the CRPF team defeated Jugraj Coaching Centre by 64-45. After trailing by 20-28 in the first half, the wining team came back in the match through
Balraj, who gathered a total of 18 points. He was equally supported by Rajbir (13 points). For loosing side, Abhit (10 points) and Puneet (14 points) reduced the margin. In the second match of the SDC team defeated Air Force by 62-46. Rao (16points) and Sartaj (10 points) guided the team to victory whereas for the Air Force team, Vinod scored 09 points and Ashutosh Rai collected 13 points. In the women section, PUCC overcame GPGC club by 48-32. GPGCC team failed to maintain the first half lead of 16-17 and lost the match. Kiran and Rani collected 12 and 14 points, respectively, for the winning side while for the opponents Harpreet (17 points) and Sudha (10 points) were the main contributors. |

Rahul logs victory in billiards championship
Panchkula, December 2 In the first round match, Rahul trounced Nikhil Arya of Rohtak while in the second round, he routed Shreshth Roshan. The ace cueist overcame Nikhil Arya by 3-1. Rahul received an early shock after loosing first frame but he came back strongly and won next three frames by breaks of 37, 44 and 39. Whereas in the second round, Rahul thrashed Shreshth Roshan again by 3-1 after potting the pink and ball black. In another game top seed, Aneesh Saini overcame Ankit Gupta by 3-0 to advance in the pre-quarter stage. Fatehgarh Sahib, December 2 Dr Jatinder Singh Sidhu, a noted psychologist and educationist, presided over the ceremony. The competition is organised by the District Special Olympics Association, Fatehgarh Sahib. Dr Jatinder said with the scientific training, we could enable the special children to live a better life without any feeling of burden on society further adding patience was required to deal with them. He said new course of bachelors of education had been started at various places to teach such special children.
