MC removes illegal signboards

Goods worth crores gutted

Goods worth crores were gutted in a fire at SCO 149, Mani Majra, here tonight. Sources said the fire occurred around 10 pm. No loss of life was, however, reported.
A fire official said a short-circuit in electricity meters could be the cause of the fire. Station Fire Officer SK Gosai said the fire department would conduct an inquiry tomorrow.

Kolkata lad designs life-saving jacket
Chandigarh, November 17
Inspired by the movie Pearl Harbour where the US naval troops were drowned after being attacked by the Japan Air Force, as some were drowned after failing to pull up the lever of the life-saving jacket. A school student of Kolkata has designed a life-saving jacket that can sense water and automatically inflate the jacket with gas that would prevent the person from drowning.
