No ECG at GMCH for 4 months

For the past four months, the medicine department of the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, has not been conducting echocardiogram (ECG) tests — to assess the functioning of the heart — as it does not have a trained person to do the job.

While city residents are facing a number of problems, local political parties are busy mugging each other on these issues.
Instead of focusing on the civic problems, including parking, garbage disposal, maintenance of internal parks and encroachment in back-lanes, these political parties are busy levelling allegations and counter-allegations regarding their involvement in scams.

Councillor busy sprucing up area around his house
Zirakpur, November 10
It seems that all roads in Ward No. 4 of Zirakpur lead to the area councillor’s house, as for getting development works done, residents have to approach the
councillor.
Residents lamented that the councillor kept sprucing up the area around his residence. They added that roads leading to his house were re-laid every year while other areas were in a state of neglect.
Narrow escape for four as car overturns
Panchkula, November 10
Four persons, including three school students, had a narrow escape when their car turned turtle here today.
The police said Kirti Gupta, a resident of Sector 12A, was on her way home. Her younger brother and two of his classmates were accompanying her. As they reached near Sector 3, a dog suddenly came in front of the car that was being driven by Kirti who while applying brakes lost control over the vehicle. The car hit a divider and turned turtle.
Breach in micro hydel canal

Power production from two 0.85 mega watt units of micro hydel power units at Guru Gobind Singh Super Thermal Plant, Ghanauli (Ropar), was affected following a 100 feet wide breach in the micro hydel channel canal last night.
Glass house for ‘winged beauties’ in city

Acquisition of land begins
