Six transformers of the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), which were to be installed at Seelon and Bhutta villages falling in the Lalto Kalan area, have disappeared. The matter was highlighted by Gurmail Singh Sangowal, a member of the district advisory committee, during a monthly meeting here today.

She lost her husband when she was pregnant. Her son, who was born three months after her husband’s death, is in his 60s now, but Daleep Kaur has still to get her husband’s dues. Daleep Kaur, who is in her mid-80s, is a resident of Balle village of Ludhiana district. “My husband Ajaib Singh was a soldier and sacrificed his life for the nation in 1951. I started getting a pension of Rs 16 per month, which is Rs 5,000 now.

Rs 50,000, gold jewellery stolen from house
