Accused in graft case, ETO commits suicide
Mohali, April 23
An excise and taxation officer (ETO) with the department’s mobile wing in Chandigarh allegedly committed suicide by consuming celphos tablets at his Phase II residence late last evening. He died at the PGI.The deceased, identified as 50-year-old Ranjit Singh, who was arrested by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau for allegedly accepting bribe from a trader to release his goods at Mohali on March 29, had been released on bail just three days ago.

RMS staff submit demands to Chief postmaster

Wheat gutted

Wheat spread over more than half acres was gutted at Nabha Sahib village near the Zirakpur-Patiala highway here today.According to a fire official, the fire started around 12.20 pm in the fields near Nabha Sahib Gurdwara and spread rapidly.
