Red alert in Mohali after bomb hoax
Mohali, March 27
A red alert was sounded in the town after the Chandigarh police control room received a hoax call about a bomb at the Punjab Cricket Association stadium in the afternoon. The entire stadium was thoroughly searched by a bomb disposal squad of the Special Protection Group (SPG) and the Punjab police.

A day after the UT Police arrested a Sector 46 resident for selling a student ticket valued at Rs 250 at 100 times the cost for Rs 25,000, the police in Chandigarh and Mohali arrested a total of eight persons, including three students, for selling tickets originally valued at Rs 250 and Rs 500 for prices ranging from Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000.

Ambala. He is survived by his wife, four sons and a daughter. Two of his sons — Surinder Kumar and Sunil Kumar are working in The Tribune.
