Silicosis takes toll on bicycle factory workers

Due to negligence on the part of the state industry and labour departments in conducting checks on factories making bicycles and parts a large number of workers there are falling prey to acute silicosis, an occupational lung disease that is caused by inhaling silica dust and, if not treated, can lead to tuberculosis.

Mobile phones worth Rs 70,000 stolen from shop

Thieves struck at a mobile store located in Chhauni Mohalla today and decamped with cash and mobiles worth
Rs 70,000. Manpeet Singh, owner of AK Telecom, said his neighbours informed him about the theft this morning, following which he informed the police about the incident.
