Drug-resistant TB cases on the rise in district
Ludhiana, December 14
With physicians in the private healthcare sector failing to administer directly observed therapy (DOT) to TB patients, cases of multiple drug resistant (MDR) and extensively drug resistant (XDR) tuberculosis are on the increase in Ludhiana district. The therapy was made mandatory in treating patients under the Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP).

Industrialists recover land grabbed by ‘mafia’

3 booked for duping shopkeepers

The police has booked three persons for defrauding some shopkeepers of the town. According to sources, three persons — Raj Kumar, a resident of Shaheed Labh Singh Nagar, Jalandhar; Ravinder Singh, a resident of Anand Nagar, Jalandhar; and Ravinder Kumar, a resident of Jahangir Puri, Delhi — formed a company, Best Insurance Broker Company, and opened its office in the GTB Market.
