The Ludhiana Municipal Corporation might call a special meeting to frame the rules for implementing the Street Vendor (Protection and Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Bill 2009 shortly, but top municipal officials believe that they wont’ be able to get it implemented as there is no record of number of vendors with the department.

194 cases settled at Lok Adalat

About 194 cases, worth Rs 2.22 crore, were settled in the quarterly Lok Adalat organised at the district court complex yesterday. Most of these were
cheque-bounce cases. About 116 cases out of 134, worth Rs 8.3 lakh, were amicably settled by the bench headed by Judicial Magistrate Rajvinder Singh.
