A promising young life was snuffed out in a road accident here today. Seventeen-year-old Rajit Rattan lost his life in a hit-and-run case on the Pakhowal road early this morning while he was on his way to his tuition class. The incident took place at 6 am.

No measures to check menace

Even though the death of Rajit here this morning shocked and angered city residents, the boy was underage to drive a two-wheeler.
Unfortunately, this is not an isolated occurrence in the city. In recent years, numerous innocent lives have been lost in such accidents. Still, the menace continues unchecked.

(PUDA) is all set to sell, through an open auction, two more commercial pockets out of the erstwhile old district courts complex in the Civil Lines area on November 10. The two sites to be put on sale through an open auction are 3.60 acre and 1.60 acre with a reserve price of Rs 80,000 per square yard.

Dengue Outbreak
298 tested positive in city

The city is reeling under the threat of dengue outbreak with the number of such cases touching the 1,500 mark.
A large number of patients, having tested positive, are undergoing treatment at
DMCH, CMCH, SPS Apollo hospital and Oswal hospital. Numerous other cases are being treated at small hospitals and have gone unreported so far.
