Berozgar Front members to gherao Minister for Jails: The Punjab B.Ed Berozgar Front members would gherao Minister for Jails, Hira Singh Gabria, after assembling in Chatar Singh Park at Ludhiana on July 25 to express resentment over scrapping of 50:50 male-female ratio in recruitment of the B.Ed teachers. Briefing the newsmen after a meeting at Nehru Park here on Tuesday, Front spokesman Harjit Singh Jida said the gherao would be a part of the state-level rally being held at Ludhiana.

Foundation stone laid: After a gap of about a decade, development works were kick-started on Wednesday by laying the foundation for the construction of another cattle shed in Gaushala here. Those present included Gaushala president Faquir Chand Goyal, Sanatan Dharam Sabha president Pramil Kalani and some senior office-bearers including Raj Kumar Garg, Rawat Mal Nagori, Kamal Mittal and Shankar Lal Aggarwal.

DTF dharna on July 28: While responding to the call made by the State Action Committee (SAC), the three blocks of Democratic Teachers Front would stage a dharna at the sub-divisional complex here on July 28. Block president Bhagwant Bhateja informed that the stir has been planned to press for release of arrears for the past 43 months. A meeting in this connection here was presided over by district president Sushil Dhawan.

Management Fest held
: Chandigarh-based Aryans Group of Colleges organised a ‘Management Fest’ for the courses of MBA, BBA and BCA here. According to Chairperson of the group Anshu Kataria, during the Fest, an expert team gave information to the students about various courses, including MBA and BBA. The team also demonstrated various things to be done before, during and after MBA and BBA courses.
