Nearly 3,000 aspirants from Ropar district for the posts of soldiers in the Indian army were provided lodging at night in various gurudwaras and temples in the city before their selection trial.

Miscreants pelt stones at hospital
Ludhiana, July 11
Unidentified miscreants hurled stones and a created ruckus at the city’s BL Kapur Memorial Hospital, located near Sabzi Mandi, late last night. The incident took place at about 11:30 pm when some people, who were reportedly in an inebriated condition, hurled abuses and began throwing stones at the hospital premises.

The Sidhwan Bet police has booked two persons for committing fraud with their brother by disposing of the property owned jointly by them.Kuldeep Kumar Kaura, hailing from Sidhwan Bet village and a resident of Ludhiana, had complained to the director, vigilance bureau, Punjab, on July 9 in this regard.
