Stolen car recovered:
Registering the first FIR at the recently notified Civil Lines police station, SHO Buta Singh along with his team on Friday nabbed three youths and recovered a snatched Indica car from their possession. Giving details, the SHO said the accused had snatched the car from Rajwinder Singh of local Udham Singh Nagar locality. Immediate after registering the FIR under section 382 of the IPC, police launched its operation and arrested the three youths, namely Amana Deep, Kaka and Nanu of Dhobiana Basti area and recovered the car. However, the SHO said there were three more accomplices of the accused, who managed to avoid their arrest.

Students take out a rally against terrorism at Sector 6 in Chandigarh on FridayCHANDIGARH
Rally against terrorism:
In lieu of the anti-terrorism day observed on Friday, over 300 students and NSS volunteers of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 16, took out a rally against terrorism. The rally, which was flagged of by education secretary Ram Niwas, was meant to sensitise residents about the need to be more vigilant in their day-to-day activities.

GMSSS-37: Over 80 students of GMSSS, Sector 37, organised a rally to observe the anti-terrorism day on Friday. The students marched around the sector shouting the anti-terrorist slogans to sensitise people towards the need to embrace peace. Principal Indira Dhingra urged the students to play their role in the movement by being more vigilant and observe non-violence in their day-to-day conduct.

Oath: Adviser to UT Administrator Pradip Mehra administered an anti-terrorism oath to all officials and employees on Friday to mark the 18th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Home Secretary Ram Niwas, Joint Secretary Finance Sandeep Hans, Chief Architect Sumit Kaur and other senior officials of the Chandigarh administration were present at the oath taking ceremony.

‘Rang tarang’: Delhi Public School celebrated “Rang Tarang”, a fortnight-long festival of music, art and dance. Over 800 students of senior wing participated in various activities like face painting, flower arrangement, one-act plays, creative choreography, slogan writing, folk dances, etc.

Gita recitation: Gita Diwas Sammaroh-2010 kicked off at Stepping Stones Senior Secondary School, Sector 37, on Friday. Around 45 students took part in the contest. Aarti, Yog Raj, Preeti, Mehak, Priya and Charvi were declared winners and were given cash prizes of Rs 500 and Rs 300. Akanksha, Shiriti, Tanvi, Mohini, Puja, Sanmit Kaur, Komal and Shashi were declared runners-up.
