Compensation: Landowners return disappointed
Mohali, April 19
Scores of landowners of Matran, Manauli and Chachu Majra villages, whose land is being acquired for the Airport City, today returned disappointed when officials of the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) were unable to handover the cheques of the land compensation amount. Only 13 of the landowners could be given a compensation of Rs 45 crore.

36 grievances taken up at public hearing session

Punjab Governor-cum-UT Administrator Shivraj Patil gave a sympathetic hearing to all 36 grievances during a public hearing session today. Responding to Tilak Raj’s request for financial assistance for his wife’s treatment at the PGI, Patil asked the Finance Secretary to help him.
