A week-long series of events to commemorate International Women’s Day concluded with a colourful cultural programme at the Chandigarh Air Force Station today. Decomposed body found

The highly decomposed body of a man in his mid-thirties was found hanging from a tree under mysterious circumstances in the jungle area near cremation ground opposite Hallo Majra village here this evening.

The failure of HRD Ministry and three other official respondents to file a reply to a petition, even after the lapse of nearly one year, has not gone down well with the high court. The bench of Chief Justice Mukul Mudgal and Justice Jasbir Singh imposed a cost of Rs 5,000 each on the respondents.

A pedestrian was injured when he was hit by a car in Sector 8-C here last night. Surinder was hit by a speeding car as the driver lost control of his vehicle after it collided with two cars.

Ranjit Bajaj’s gunman held
Panchkula, March 8
After the arrest of Ranjit Bajaj, the district police claimed to have arrested one of his two private gunmen here today. Malkhan Singh (37) of the Bapu Dham Colony in Sector 26 of Chandigarh was arrested from his residence. No weapon was recovered from his possession, said the police.
