Special train for Kumbh Mela:
The North Western Railway has decided to run a Kumbh Mela special train from Ajmer to Haridwar, chief PRO Lalit Bohra informed today. The 236 Ajmer-Hardwar Express train would run from March 13-16 while on return it would be available as 235 Haridwar-Ajmer Express from March 14-17. Its halts have been fixed at Kishangarh, Phulera, Asalpur, Jaibner, Jaipur, Gandhinagar, Dausa, Bandikui, Alwar, Rewari, Delhi, Shyamali and Jawalapur.

Blood donation camp
: As many as 265 units of blood was collected during a blood donation camp at Shaheed College of Engineering and Technology. The camp was organised with the help of department of blood transfusion of Government Medical College, Sector 32, Chandigarh, and NSS wing of SUS Group. Professor HPS Sidhu, principal of Shaheed Udham Singh Women Engineering College, emphasised on the need for screening and storage of blood.

550 get degrees
: As many as 550 students of MCA, MBA, BCA, BTech, pharmacy, hotel management and BEd received degrees at a convocation ceremony of Chandigarh Group of Colleges here on Friday. Chief guest Yogesh Kochhar, director (business), Microsoft, delivered the convocation address.

Three killed in mishaps
: Saraswati haling from Bihar was killed in a road accident near Chahal Nagar today. In another mishap, one unidentified Migrant youth was run over by a running train near Phillaur Railway Station yesterday. A migrant from Bihar was killed after being run over by a train near local Santokhpura railway crossing today. The Railway Police registered a case and sent the body to local Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination.

375 students get degrees: As many as 375 students of Kamala Nehru College for Women were awarded degrees during the convocation on Saturday. The students belonged to both graduate and postgraduate level. Besides, 296 students were given away prizes for their outstanding performance in academic and co-curricular activities.

:The women travelling by Rajasthan Roadways buses on Monday (100th International Women Day) would be offered 50 per cent rebate in the actual fare irrespective of the category of the service, informed PK Dev managing director (MD) of the Rajasthan State Roadways Corporation.

1,000 patients examined
: More than one thousand patients were examined at a health mela (Ayush apke dwar), organised by Ayurvedic, Unani, Sidhha and Homoeopathic (Ayush) department, here on Saturday. Finance commissioner and principal secretary of health and Ayush, Navraj Sandhu inaugurated the camp. The director general of Ayush, RK Sapra, said the medicines were distributed free of cost to the patients at the camp conducted by the experts at Sector 20. An exhibition of medicinal plants was also organised to evince the interest among the masses regarding ancient medical treatment methods, he added.

Fiza flays Kuldeep
: Fiza, estranged wife of Chander Mohan, formerly Chand Mohammad, said Friday’s behaviour of workers of the Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) at a rally led by Kuldeep Bhisnoi in Chandigarh reflected the philosophy of the party. Earlier the ‘goonda gardi’ was behind the curtain and now it had come in the open, she said. Talking to mediapersons here, she said those who treated women shabbily should meet such a fate. She said workers of the party damaged public property on the directions of Kuldeep Bishnoi.

Kangra
1 killed in mishap
:A 12-year-old boy was killed on the spot and two others were injured seriously when a tractor they were travelling in overturned at Dhar village under Haripur police station last evening.
Kangra district police chief Atul Fulzele said today that a tractor overturned and rolled down near Dhar village, leaving 12-year-old Sudharshan, alias Bunty, dead on the spot and seriously injuring two persons, including driver Ali, and Rashied Sood.

Hideout busted:
The security forces unearthed a militant hideout in Bandipora district and seized a large quantity of ammunition today. A joint operation was launched by Bandipora police, 14 RR and 3rd Battalion of the CRPF at Satri village in the district. Two hand grenades, two AK magazines, 41 rounds of AK ammunition, one under barrel grenade launcher and two UBGL grenades were seized from a hideout in a cowshed. The police has registered a case.
