Kidnap bid ends in car crash
Three of four accused nabbed at Dharampur, hospitalised
Panchkula, January 9
Timely action by the police helped foil the attempt to kidnap an 18-year-old girl and it managed to arrest three of the four accused within a couple of hours at Kalka today.

3 arrested for murder
Ambala, January 9
The police has nabbed three persons for their alleged involvement in the murder of Jitender Kumar, a resident of Ambala Cantt. The body of Jitender was recovered from Dhakola village on December 29. The police said Sohan Lal, Devi Lal and Sandeep Kumar had been arrested in this regard. Jitender was kidnapped from Saha village on December 27 and after two days his body was found.

Gunshots fired in Phase III-B2

A day after the brother of Kharar MLA Balbir Singh Sidhu was booked, along with five other persons, for allegedly creating ruckus and trespassing into a house in Phase III-B2, an unidentified person fired gunshots near the house here tonight.

Woman held for playing satta

The local police arrested Kiran, a resident of Sector 45 and mother of Noor Kataria, a model, for playing satta near her residence yesterday evening and also recovered cash worth Rs 1,850 from her possession. A case has been registered against her under the Gambling Act in the Sector-34 police station.
