The CBI special court of Darshan Singh today sentenced RD Joshi, a former executive engineer of the UT public health department, to three-year imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 30,000 in misappropriation of assets case after he was booked 16 years back by the CBI.

Man gets life term for murder
Chandigarh, November 30
A local court today sentenced an accused to life imprisonment for murdering a woman in 2000. The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Raj Rahul Garg sentenced Satwinder to life imprisonment under Section 302 of the IPC and asked him to pay a fine of Rs 1,05,000 under various sections of the IPC, including Rs 50,000 under Section 302, Rs 10,000 under Section 392, Rs 25,000 under Section 460, Rs 10,000 under Section 468 and Rs 10,000 under Section 471.
