Bandh cripples life in Mohali, Rajpura
Mohali/Rajpura, November 3
Normal life was thrown out of gear in Mohali, Kharar, Rajpura and Fatehgarh Sahib as a majority of the commercial establishments remained closed due to the bandh call given by various panthic organisations to protest against the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and the failure of the government to provide justice to victims.
No untoward incident was reported from any part of the district as most of the commercial area wore a deserted look.

MC for removal of encroachments

Another doctor tested positive for swine flu in the city today, taking the total number of cases to 61. The victim is a doctor in the endocrinology department of the PGI and resides in the hospital complex.

It seems that fire services in Chandigarh are still in deep slumber and not prepared for major fire incidents.
Interestingly, the department is not only ill-equipped to handle such a situation, but does not have data as to how many oil, diesel, nitrogen and LPG vehicles enter the city to proceed to other parts of the region.
