‘Snap ties with BJP’: The Dal Khalsa has advised the SAD leadership to reconsider its alliance with the BJP. In a letter to the SAD leadership, Dal Khalsa leader Kanwarpal Singh has said it is an irony to defeat one ‘enemy’ of the Sikhs (Congress), the SAD had made another “anti-Sikh” party (BJP) its partner. “ We understand compulsion of the SAD for having an alliance with the BJP, but not its destiny. The BJP has lost its relevance, ideological moorings and credibility. The Akalis should jump out of the BJP’s sinking ship for the sake of Punjab in general and the Sikhs in particular,” said Kanwarpal Singh, adding the SAD should “learn from the working of the RSS”.
