A year after local colonisers had laid a stretch of road alongside the Sidhwan canal after spending Rs 1 crore to help the residents reach colonies developed by them, the Public Works Department (PWD) has dismantled a portion of it for laying it afresh as a part of a road strengthening project funded by the government.

Army man accused of raping cousin
Jagraon, September 6
A divorcee has accused an Army jawan, who is also her cousin, of raping her for about a week. The girl (21), who belongs to a nearby Dholan village, got married about two years ago in Ludhiana but the marriage didn’t last long as the boy was accused of being impotent. She got divorce from him and used to live in her parent’s house at Dholan village.
