Dimpy Murder Case
Supplementary challan filed against Rocky
Tribune News Service

Chandigarh, August 19
The UT police has filed a supplementary challan in the Dimpy murder case against Jaswinder Singh alias Rocky, under Section 302 of the IPC. In the earlier charge-sheet filed in the case, Rocky was booked for criminal conspiracy in the murder under Sections 302 and 120 B of the IPC.

With police investigations establishing direct involvement of Rocky in the murder, the supplementary challan was filed.

The court had earlier framed charges in the case in January against Rocky in the murder case of “gangster” Prabhjinder Singh Dimpy.

The court held that on July 7, 2006, Sunil Kumar and Ravinder Singh, alias Bhura, fired gunshots at Dimpy and Harneev Kaur, leading to the death of Dimpy.

Thus, charges of murder along with criminal conspiracy were framed against Jaswinder Singh.

However, the police claimed that after more investigation in the case, it was revealed that Rocky was directly involved in the murder.

The police sources said Rocky’s earlier statement to the police wherein he had stated that Bhura and another accused Sunil had killed Dimpy using his pistol was not true.

The court had also earlier framed charges under Section 25 of the Arms Act as the police had recovered a .45 bore US army pistol used in the crime. Magazines and cartridges were also recovered.

Dimpy was shot outside the Sukhna Lake Club. According to the prosecution, his refusal to split ransom money was the motive behind the murder.

Rocky reportedly told the police that Dimpy had been denying them their cut even though Rocky and his accomplices executed the work. Fed up with this, they parted ways and later decided to eliminate him.
