MA (Punjabi) Part II result today
: The results of MA (Punjabi) Part-II examination held by the Guru Nanak Dev University in April 2009 will be declared tomorrow.

Body found: An unidentified body was found in a rail coach at Amritsar Railway station here on Thursday. General Railway Police SHO Manjit Singh ruled out murder in the case. He said no injury mark has been found on his body. Action has been initiated under section 174 of the CrPC.

Recommendation for police medal: The Punjab police has streamlined the system of making recommendation for police medals. According to an official spokesman, now it has been decided that the recommendation of deserving officials should be sent to the office of AIG Personnel all round the year after examining the achievements and service record of the officials.

Computerised PRTC depots: Minister for Transport Master Mohan Lal on Thursday stated that the PRTC has chalked out a plan to computerise all its depots in 2009-10 in order to ensure better management. Three depots have already been computerised. The corporation plans to start online booking facility for the benefit of the passengers. 

New vet polyclinics: Seven new veterinary polyclinics at a cost of Rs 1107.89 lakh would be setup in the state. Disclosing this hereon Thursday, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister of the state Gulzar Singh Ranike said these polyclinics would be set up in SAS Nagar, Tarn Taran, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Nawanshahar, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Kapurthala and Jalandhar districts.

Shorthand classes: The Punjab Language Department is going to start Punjabi shorthand, Punjabi shorthand high speed and instructor stenography training classes from September at the office of Assistant Director, Punjabi Cell. The applicants may get the forms from the office and deposit them by August 25. The interview for these classes is on August 27.

Naib Tehsildar booked: The Malerkotla police has booked Naib Tehsildar Selender Singh and Patwari Jaspal Singh under Sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 and 120, IPC, on Thursday. According to SHO Harwinder Singh Khera, the FIR has been registered on the complaint of local Municipal Councillor Ruldu Khan.
