Health teams identify trouble spots
Destroy larvae of Aedes mosquitoes
Ludhiana, August 6
A team of the anti-larvae wing from the Department of Health and Family Welfare along with a team of officials from the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), New Delhi, today identified and destroyed the larvae of Aedes mosquito at various public places and hospitals across the city.

Strike cast shadow over sale deed registration
Ludhiana, August 6
The bank strike today cast a shadow over the registration of sale deeds, vehicles and marriages causing inconvenience to city residents. The treasury branch of the State Bank of India that sells stamp papers above Rs 50,000 and receives registration fee of vehicles and marriages was remained closed throughout the day due to strike.

Two thefts in Kitchlu Nagar
Ludhiana, August 6
The thieves struck in two houses situated in Kitchlu Nagar and decamped with gold and cash worth lakhs of rupees here today. The incident was reported to the police today morning. Surinder Mohan Sehgal was the first to report about the incident to the police.

Direct payment to farmers
Panchayats hand over copies of resolution to arhtiyas

As many as 87 panchayats of Jagraon area and 37 panchayats of Raikot area yesterday handed over the copies of a resolution against direct payment to farmers to the Arhtiya Association of their areas.

Nephew booked for duping NRI

The police has booked a nephew of an NRI for selling off the property of his uncle fraudulently. Saudagar of Gondwal village, who now resides in Malaysia, has accused his nephew Sukhjinder Singh of fraudulently disposing off his 1.5 acre agricultural land in the village.
