CM doles out Rs 555 cr for villages, towns

To woo voters of the border region in view of Lok Sabha elections Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today announced special grants of Rs 555 crore in the state to speed up development projects in all villages and townships of Punjab under the new programme ‘tarakki ki lehar har pind aur har shehar’.

6 of family killed in accident
Moga, December 22
Six persons of a family were killed and four injured in an accident probably due to fog in this district, 16 km from here on the Ferozepur road on Sunday evening. Police sources said two women and four children died on the spot when Maruti car they were travelling by hit a milk tanker standing on the roadside.
