Make research lucrative to attract talent: Menon

Menon, who is presently adviser in the Department of Space/ Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), and president of Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta.

UT: Refund surrendered plots’ money to allottees
Chandigarh, November 21
In a decision affecting thousands of city residents, UT chief administrator Sanjay Kumar, has directed the estate office to refund money of surrendered plots to allottees on the grounds of Rule 12(3) of the Chandigarh Leasehold of Sites and Building Rules. With the implementation of this order the administration will have to return the money to the tune of lakhs to the allottees.

Students, employee reach
compromise

Two days after the alleged assault by two students on a non-teaching employee of the Panjab University, both the parties today reached a compromise. In a meeting comprising the top brass of the univeristy and even the representatives of the computer sciences department that lasted for over three hours today, both the students apologised to the employee.
