Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Uttarakhand and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and east Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Dharamsala 2, east Uttar Pradesh: Chhatnag 3 and Churk 2 and Uttarakhand: Kalagarh 11, Banbasa 6 and Dehra Dun and Rishikesh 2 each.
Temperature:
The maximum temperatures changed little. They were markedly above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, appreciably above normal in Rajasthan, above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 40.5C recorded at Phalodi (Rajasthan).
The minimum temperatures changed little. They were markedly above normal in Haryana, appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh, above normal in Uttarakhand and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 19.0C recorded at Lakhimpur Kheri (east Uttar Pradesh).
Forecast valid until the morning of October 6: Rain/thundershowers are likely at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
Outlook for the subsequent two days: In view of an approaching western disturbance over north Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir, isolated to scattered rainfall activity may occur in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand. Also rainfall activity may continue in east Uttar Pradesh.
