Rainfall: Rain/thunder-showers have occurred at most of the places in Himachal Pradesh and east Uttar Pradesh, at many places in west Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan and Uttarakhand and at isolated places in the rest of the region.
The chief amount of rainfall in cm are: Haryana: Gurgaon 5, Nuh, Palwal and Ratia 2 each and Hasanpur, Sohna and Tosham 1 each, Himachal Pradesh: Guler 11, Kasol 10, Shimla and Sujanpur Tira 9 each, Kahu 6, Nadaun and Sunni Bhajji 5 each, Ghamroor, Pandoh and Mandi 4 each and Berthin, Una and Sundernagar 3 each, Jammu and Kashmir: Katra 6 and Udhampur 2, Punjab: Bhatinda 4, Pathankot 3, Muketsar 2 and Talwandi Sabo 1, East Rajasthan: Jaipur 3 and Dholpur, Sikar and Swaimadhopur 1 each, East Uttar Pradesh: Bahraich, Banda and Hardoi 6 each, Sardanagar and Palliakalan 5 each, Ghazipur, Dalmau, Hanumansetu, Kakardharighat and Gorakhpur 4 each, Lucknow and Chhatnag 3 each, Katerniaghat, Jaunpur, Akbarpur and Bansi 2 each and Basti, Fatehgarh, Mirzapur and Turtipar 1 each, West Uttar Pradesh: Jhansi 8, Mathura 4, Lalitpur, Narora and Shahjahanpur 3 each, Agra and Hamirpur 2 each and Aligarh and Bareilly 1 each and Uttarakhand: Mohaba 7 and Bharthana, Uttarkashi and Rudraprayag 1 each.
Temperature: The maximum temperatures rose appreciably in Haryana and Punjab, rose in Jammu and Kashmir, fell appreciably in Uttarakhand and changed little elsewhere. It was largely below normal in east Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, markedly below normal in Haryana, Punjab and Uttarakhand, appreciably below normal in Himachal Pradesh and west Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the
region. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 39.3°C recorded at Sriganganagar (Rajasthan).
Forecast valid until the morning of June 20: Rain/thundershowers will occur at many places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, east Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and at a few places in the rest of the region.
Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at a few places in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand with isolated very heavy falls. Isolated heavy rain is likely in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and east Rajasthan during next 48 hours.
Outlook for the subsequent two days: Increase in rainfall activity over the region.
