KAC seeks ban on Advani’s book
Jalandhar, April 13 Talking to mediapersons today, KAC convener Bhai Mohkam Singh said the Punjab government should impose a ban on the book as several references in it
had hurt the religious sentiments of Sikhs. The KAC representatives said, “Advani’s admission that it was his party which instigated and forced the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi to storm Darbar Sahib to ‘liberate it from anti-national elements’ had once again rubbed salt into the wounds of the Sikhs.” The KAC criticised Advani for equating Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale with Bhasmasur - a demon of Hindu mythology. They said Advani had placed himself “in the list of Sikh enemies” by admitting that it was under the BJP pressure that Indira Gandhi was forced to undertake Operation Bluestar. “It seemed that Advani did this keeping an eye on the coming Lok Sabha elections,” they alleged.
