A lovelorn man in his mid-twenties allegedly shot himself to death with his colleague’s pistol at their rented accommodation in Sector 23 here last night. No suicide note has been found, but it seems a love affair gone wrong may have pushed the youth to take the extreme step.

15 pc seats for poor children in private schools
Chandigarh, March 5
The Chandigarh education department has directed all private recognised schools of Chandigarh to fill 15 per cent reserved seats for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) students. According to S.K. Setia, DPI (S), if any of the schools fail to practice this mandatory condition, stern action would be taken against that school.

Law students form ‘PULSE’

In a hit-and-run mishap, Ram Kumar, a clerk at the Haryana MLA hostel, was killed after his motorcycle collided with a truck near the railway lights point here last night. The truck driver fled leaving the vehicle behind after the mishap.
