Major deficiencies surface at meeting

Hundreds of textbooks meant for distribution to students under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan (SSA) are lying unutilised at the block headquarters in various districts of Punjab. This is leading to gross underutilisation of resources provided under the project. 5th National Theatre Festival
Banned Pak play staged
Amritsar, January 23
Artistes from Pakistan’s Ajoka Theatre Group yesterday staged “Burqa Vaganza,” a satire on burqa (veil), banned in Pakistan, for ridiculing age-old tradition followed by Muslim women. The play was specially arranged to mark the 5th National Theatre Festival, being organised by the Manch Rangmanch in collaboration with the Punjab Naatshala, Punarjyot, the National School of Drama, New Delhi, and the North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala.
