Treat drug menace as national challenge: Ashwani

Drug addiction is killing Punjab’s future, said Dr Ashwani Kumar, union minister of state for industries and commerce here today. Issuing a strong warning, the minister said, “It is time for us to treat the malaise of addiction as a national challenge. Future generations would not forgive us if the political class collectively does not rise to meet it.”

Subsidise power to farm sector: Dept

The SAD-BJP government has been considering to give power at subsidised rate in place of free of cost to farm sector. Sources said the Finance Department of the government was working on a proposal to give power to farm sector at 50 per cent tariff.
