16 booked for Nihang clash
Patiala, September 22
The police today booked 16 persons for the bloody clash among Nihangs on the Baba Budha Dal premises here yesterday that left four nihangs dead and two seriously injured. All those booked are the members of the Baba Udhay Singh group. They have been booked on a complaint of Darshan Singh, uncle of Baba Balbir Singh, who was among the injured.

5,30,000 cases pending in various courts
More judges for state soon: Chief Justice
Patiala, September 22
The large pendency of cases in the lower courts of the state is baffling. Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Vijender Kumar, while talking to newsmen here today said 5,30,000 cases were pending in various courts of the state.  Such a large pendency was basically due to shortage of judges.
